Current Members Dashboard

AM.NET’s new Current Members Dashboard allows you to analyze several statistical facets of members, including:

  • Age
  • Chapter
  • Classification
  • General Business
  • Position code
  • Specific Business
  • Type

Let’s start by examining the age and chapter information for current members. First, select >age in the column field. Then, select chapter in the row field.

AM.NET separates the data into different statistical groupings that display how many people are in each age bracket for a specified chapter.

Select a single column and row field from those listed above to analyze different groupings.

You can also filter data. For example, if you only want to view data for Lifetime and Honorary members, click the filter icon for Type in the Filter row and deselect all types except Lifetime and Honorary.

The Member Dashboard now only displays data for the two specified types.

Other functions on the dashboard include:

  • The visualization tab, which allows you to view a graphic representation of your data.
  • Get Current Data. The dashboard does not refresh membership data each time it opens. Click Get Current Data to refresh the data set to include any changes made since you last opened the dashboard.

Reporting on the media

Hot off the press

The press release export is now available in AM.NET in Media > Reports > Export > Press Releases. This report exports data about each press release distributed to media organizations in the system.

Media Organization Roster

The Media Organization Roster (Media > Reports > Roster > Media Organizations Roster) is now available in AM.NET. This report lists key information about all media organizations in the system. The report allows you to filter using the selection criteria screen for fields related to media, firms, and product sales.

Two Volunteer reports now available in AM.NET

The Areas of Expertise Listing (Volunteers > Reports > Other > Areas of Expertise Listing) and the Volunteer Assignments report (Volunteers > Reports > Other > Volunteer Assignments) are both now available in AM.NET. The Areas of Expertise Listing (as its name implies) lists all firms in alphabetical order under specific areas of expertise in the system. The Volunteer Assignments report lists information about each volunteer assignment, separated by date.

Group Registrations… Now with Fees!

The last release of AM.NET included a routine that allows you to register a group of individuals for an event, but you could not apply fees. A new routine, Group Registrations (With Fees) now allows you to register a group of individuals and apply the event fees with one simple routine.

To register a group of people with fees for an event:

  • Select the event in Events File Maintenance.
  • Select Routines > Group Registration (With Fees) from the main menu. The Find a Firm window appears.
  • Search for the firm containing the group of individuals registering for the event and click OK. The Select Employee(s) window appears.
  • Select the employees registering for the event. (Select the top checkbox to select all employees.)
  • Click OK. The Group Registrations window appears displaying the registrants and their selected default fees. To change a fee, select the appropriate fee from the Fee Type column.
  • Click OK. The Post Registration dialog appears.
  • Click OK. AM.NET posts the registrations with the selected fees.

AM.NET and role based security

In the past Association Manager relied on a module-and-routine based security system. System supervisors would set the security level for specific routines and reports within a module. Then, users with a security level in the specific module greater than or equal to this level would be allowed access.

For example, if the events security level was 8 for a user, then the system would allow him or her access to any event report or routine with a security level of 8 or below. However, if the security level was 9 for the specific routine or report, the system would not allow the user access.

This has changed. AM.NET now uses a role-based security system. Each user in the system is a member of a role--a set of permissions for a specific set of functions. For example, you might have a Membership Coordinator role. This role would allow access to most of the basic membership functions of the system, while limiting access to irrelevant or confidential financial functions. The Membership Director role, on the other hand, might give the user more freedom to view financial statistics, delete system codes, and perform other supervisor functions.

To add a role

  • Select Utilities > Routines > Supervisor Functions > Users and System Security or File > Users and System Security.
  • Select Roles.
  • Click New. The New Role Properties window appears.
  • Enter a Name and Description for the role and then click Edit Permissions (the link button in the upper right-hand corner). The Select Permission(s) window appears.
  • Select each function you want to assign to the role. Members of this role will have access to the selected functions.

Now, let's add members to the role we just created.

  • First, click the Edit Members link button. The Select Members for Role window appears.
  • Now, move users you want to add to the role from Available Items to Selected Items and click OK.

The users you added to this role will be able to use each function in the role.

Role based security will add flexibility, ease of use, and a powerful new way to track permissions in Association Manager.

Tag! We're it.

AM.NET now supports 2D bar codes, QR codes, and Microsoft Tag. If your society needs any of these coding technologies implemented, please let us know.
