Export/View Selected Names Data

AM.NET now features Export/View Selected Names Data. This routine lets you:

AM.NET’s Export/View Selected Names Data is functionally similar to AM4’s routine. However, like all reports and routines in AM.NET, the user interface is different. Let’s perform a simple export in order to explore these differences and to review the powerful functionality of Export/View Selected Names Data.

First, click Reports in the Names group on the Main button bar. The Names Reports window appears.

Next, double-click the Export/View item in the list on the right. The Export/View – Names/Export window appears.

All of the Report Settings in AM.NET are the same as in AM4:

Let’s leave the default settings for each of these except the “Specify which fields to export” setting.

Click “3) Specify which fields to export” in the right pane to expand the group, and then select 3 fields: “Names – Email,” “Names – Status,” and “Names – Type.” These fields will appear as additional columns in the exported data. Remember, basic contact information like the person’s name, address, and phone number appear automatically in the exported file. You do not need to select these as fields you want to export.

Now, click Run. The Selection Criteria screen appears. Specify any criteria you want each record in the export to meet, and then click Run. (For details about specifying criteria, see issue 3 of AM.NETWorks.)

After AM.NET runs the export, the Report and Save Data As… groups appear.

From the Report group, you can:

From the Save Data As… group you can save the data in one of 3 formats:
